Mining Heritage Unearthed: opportunities for creatives, technologists and research centres
Mining Heritage Unearthed: Exploring new opportunities for creatives, technologists and research centres
On the 27 January 2012, CISNET Wales will present Mining Heritage Unearthed. This fully subsidised event will bring together today’s mining heritage experts, technology developers and the creative minds of the Atlantic Area in a networking and innovation event to be held at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, Carmarthenshire.
Mining Heritage Unearthed is for any creative or cultural SME, enterprise, research body or organisation in Wales and the Atlantic Area. If you have a great idea, a product, new process or passion for a particular mining heritage site, then this event is for you.
Mining Heritage Unearthed will examine Wales’ mining heritage in its widest sense with speakers covering topics such as wild uncharted sites, interpreted landmarks, community initiatives, experimental archaeology, right the way through to processing sites that are offering new opportunities for regeneration.
The event will also include information on funding opportunities and presentations from Welsh SMEs already delivering services to the heritage industry, such as audio guides, mobile apps and interpretation projects. The day will be rounded off by an innovation and ideas development session led by Dewi Lloyd.
Mining Heritage Unearthed is fully subsidised by the ERDF, and is open to creative and cultural enterprises and organisations in Wales and the Atlantic Area. Anyone interested in attending the event are encouraged to book a place early via e.harrocks@tsd.ac.uk.
